The Super Color Filter (590nm)

I just recently converted another camera for the SuperColor filter (590nm) by Life Pixel just in time for my trip to the Eastern Sierras. Compared to my older camera converted to Enhanced Filter (655nm), the SuperColor has more reds on the foliage after swapping the red and blue channels in Photoshop.

Pick your color

In Infrared photography you have flexibility on picking your colors. In my experience with the Enhanced Filter (665nm) from Life Pixel, I have at least two dominant colors as shown.

You can get a golden brown sky and bluish foliage as taken from a white balanced shot straight from camera or a more “realistic” color choice of bluish sky and yellowish foliage. In some other infrared photos you see in the internet, you may find a snow white color for the leaves, but these may have been taken with infrared cameras with 700nm and above.
